The Fayet Mansion House was built in the XVII and then enlarged in the XIX century. It's one of the most beautiful architectural gems of Béziers. Originally owned by the Fayet family, including Gustave a wealthy entrepreneur, collector and painter, this elegant mansion contained, first, a large artist’s studio before being transformed into a museum once the building has been sold to the township in 1966.

Former headquarters of the old Art Museum, the Fayet private mansion is exhibiting part of the extraordinary collection of XIX century old paintings, from the romantic period until the III French Republic academic painters, including Delacroix, Géricault, Corot or Cabanel. The core collection of Jean-Antoine Injalbert from Béziers constitutes one of its other attractions. As a neo-baroque artist, Injalbert has been one of the most sought sculptors of his time. His incomparable talent as a modeler can be seen through the presentation of his preparatory works and sketches.
